Do something different this New Year!

For years we had been glued to the Television on the midnight of December 31, and watched celebrities dancing, singing & wishing us a very ‘Happy New Year.’ Some other years we were at our office slogging our butt at work, when our bosses were having a gala time in some New Year party. A couple of years back we ground our hip with our girl friend in a pub, who later ditched us to find a better NRI partner as a soul mate. Few New Year nights we tried to call up our forgotten parents and found the phone lines very busy. So what can you do differently on this New Year eve?

Wherever you are, what ever you are doing, and with whomsoever you are – just exactly when the clock hits 12 on the midnight of December 2005
– close you eyes
– imagine the picture of our planet earth
– and chant the following mantra 3 times…

Take a deep breath and say it when you exhale

Om Shaanti, Shaanti, Shannti hee

Again breath in and say

Om Shaanti, Shaanti, Shaanti hee

Again breath in and say

Om Shaanti, Shaanti, Shaanti hee

It will hardly take 2 minutes and once you are done, you can carry on with the beer you are holding on your hand, or go ahead kissing your girl friend or cuddle yourself in your warm bed.

Askenni wishes one and all a very Happy & Prosperous New Year, and asks you to Celebrate Life!

PS – Shaanti in the mantra means 'peace' in Indian lingo. Even if your girl friend’s name happens to be Shaanti try imagining the image of our planet Earth and not HER!
