Weird genre of people I come across – so using God’s voice to make money, huh?
If you seek knowledge, seek it fully. Partial knowledge is always dangerous, and could prove you dumb at times. I had a cousin, who unable to withstand his parents’ torture, ran away from house when he was a small boy. For some 10 years he lived away, and was working in one of the weaving industries in Uttar Pradesh. That particular company was good, and they would save half the money he made in his bank account. After 10 years he returned to his native, and the first person who recognized him was me. He could not talk anything but Hindi (he forgot all the Tamil he knew), he would dress like a bhaiyya (no derogation meant), and also sit like a bhaiyya. He shared all his experiences with me, but he had a big doubt in his mind. He showed me the bank pass book he was carrying with him. And he innocently asked me, “will the money I made in the previous place valid here?”
He knew two things for sure. One – that the planet is really big, and that there are many countries in this world having geographical boundaries. And secondly - that various countries have different currencies. The only thing he wasn’t sure was whether Uttar Pradesh was part of India!
It was not only the recent Kannama who buzzed me to say that I am using God’s voice to make money there were many others too (of course negligible numbers). They are very clear (I don’t know where they read about it) that science like astrology, ayurveda, and meditation should not be done for money. They are right – but only partly. Divine science should not be practiced for money ALONE, and that is the whole truth! And there are various other things that are mentioned in the scriptures about astrologers and their clients, which probably people like Kannama miss to read….
*Astrologers aren’t supposed to do readings who are non-believers
*Astrologers aren’t supposed to do reading for arrogant people
*Astrologers aren’t supposed to do readings for people who try to test their caliber
*When fixing an appointment, you need to be courteous enough to ask for astrologers’ free time
*When you go for the appointment you are supposed to meet him with a plate full of fruits, betel leaves, and few silver coins (that too without the astrologer asking for them)
Things are not so good these days. I am not sure whether the people have changed or whether the culture has changed. We have more time to talk about the pierced naval, than all the good things India had invented or discovered.
So finally here is how the conversation went about - our first and the last conversation
Kannama – so you are an astro, huh?
Me – that is what God wanted me to be
Kannama – you know even I can predict
Me – that is good
Kannama – I told my colleague, she will be fired if she doesn’t change her attitude…..and she was fired ha ha ha ha
Me – good for you, all can predict, it is just the technique that differs
Kannama – tell me something about my past, if you are an astro
Me – I don’t do readings for free
Kannama – so using God’s voice for making money, huh?
Me – if you think so, then yes. Well I am blocking you. Mail me whenever you have astro query bye bye
