Do we really need to take the inverted triangle seriously?

I had to attend a telephonic interview with a Pune-based company yesterday between 6 and 8 pm. I was well prepared. At 5 I got a call from my 2-year-old daughter asking me to take her to the beach. In fact I had promised to take her to the beach, while leaving the house in the morning ? and she remembered it. The choices left were between an interview, which could get me a decent job and the smile that I can bring to my daughter?s face by keeping my promise. I decided to go with the latter.

There is a general myth that the wealth you posses is inversely proportional to the number of kids you have ? meaning more the kids, less the money and vice versa. If that were the case, there wouldn?t had been rich people before the government brought in the family planning scheme. Also all the people who have less number of children would at least had their own house and a car. Even today you can see small families with 1 kid living in slums! The economic status of a person or a family is never based on the number of kids they have.

The famous BHA BHA BHA (Hindi version of NRI ? Bharat se Bhaga Bharatiya) writer Deepak Chopra beautifully quotes that ?If you want to EARN more, spend more?, this statement would sound illogic but makes immense sense when applied to real life. Same way, if an individual becomes RESPONSIBLE for more number of lives, he automatically gets a lift in his career and in his life - that is how the divine works.

The world may attribute the success of Dhirubhai Ambani as an outcome of his personal dreams and personal efforts, but his success was more due to the blessing and efforts of the people and family who worked for him - in one way he was responsible for millions of families directly and indirectly. This funda holds true with enlightened souls too. The saints who tried to change lives and bring happiness into others? life are blessed with wealth and fame, and who doesn?t, attain moksha in unknown terrains of the Himalayas.

There is another argument that you can give the best if you have less number of kids. Again it is a debatable issue. There is nothing that can be termed as best in this world. There are always better things to compensate for the best, and this is the power of Maya. It is not that if you have 2 kids you will put them in an Ooty convent, and if you had one you would put him in international school. How much ever kids you have, you will continue to follow the same pattern or system. It is like saying if you had prepared for 2 years to write the 10th exam, you would have passed with 95 percent marks when your capacity is only 75. You can never cross your ability of performance even if you try for 10 more years - you cannot beat your destiny.

So what is the moral of the story? Become responsible for more number of people?s life directly or indirectly and let the divine shower it blessing on you.

PS ? for people who didn?t understand the heading ? inverted triangle is a symbol for infertility used in the advertisement for FAMILY PLANNING.
